Regional dancer exchange across East Africa, plus year-round workshops in Kampala.

The Regional Young Dancer Exchange, an initiative by Batalo East, unites promising East African dancers from countries including Congo, Kenya and Rwanda. The programme involves sending ambassador dancers from Uganda to these countries and vice versa, fostering an exchange of skills and ideas, and providing opportunities for dancers to compete and network in an international environment.
Batalo East is committed to offering accessible, affordable and quality workshops in Kampala throughout the year, covering a variety of dance styles to ensure a comprehensive dance education for participants.
The initiative has successfully built connections between dancers and institutions across the region, facilitating the exchange of best practices in arts management, arts development and audience engagement. This effort not only enhances the skills of individual dancers but strengthens the overall dance community in East Africa.
